On Tuesday, April 24th, I will be performing in a reading of a new play by Queens College MFA playwright Will Lacker. Catch the Westbound follows two girls in the late 19th century who must journey from their home and abusive past in order to find a new life. They do so by fare-dodging a train that is hopefully going south and to a better life. The reading will take place at 2pm at The Flea.

Since March of 2017, I've been helping to develop The Flea's new children's theatre initiative Cereals. Cereals, presents four new plays geared towards young audiences in serialized format. The first two episodes were presented in the fall and the final two episodes of each show will be performed in April and May. I'm thrilled to be continuing work on Fatima and Her Pigeon by Noelle Ghoussaini and directed by Kate Moore Heaney. The show follows a young Syrian girl named Fatima who must leave her country due to the ongoing war. Along the way she loses her pet pigeon and best friend Jawahar, and must go on a journey to find her and learn about what it means to leave home along the way. More information on Cereals can be found here. |
