In August I will be performing in TÁO – a new piece by Ran Xia and directed by Florence Le Bas. TÁO is a multidisciplinary piece that combines extracts of the poems The Peach Blossom Spring by Tao Tuanming and You Can't Go Home Again by Thomas Wolfe, with On Raglan Road by Patrick Kavanagh. It explores the concept of home and what that means when you've grown up moving from place to place. ​It will be performed as part of The Tank's DarkFest, which presents performances without the use of the lighting grid in order to be a bit more energy conscious. fajjr+ali is super excited to be joining Undiscovered Countries for their July Infinite Festival show on July 24th. Undiscovered Countries is an ongoing series of new and developing live art, performing every other month. The festival was founded to create a space for artists to show in-progress works without paying for production, and for audiences to see that work without paying for tickets. I'm excited to jump back into Serials, one of the flagship shows at The Flea theater. Each week, five short plays are told in episodic format and voted on by the audience each night. At the end of the weekend, the top three shows get to write the next episode of their show, while the losing two shows have to come up with a completely new play for the next cycle.
