I'm deeply honored to be joining the Advisory Board of Donkeysaddle Projects, an incredible organization that I've had the pleasure of working with in the past as an actor. DSP's mission is to use art/storytelling for communal political education, to challenge injustice in all of its manifestations, to connect movements, and to nurture radical imagination. The values at the heart of DSP’s work are: integrity, vulnerability, humility, love, respect, accessibility, connection, movement, and being unafraid of ignorance or risk. It is a community who believes that storytelling and art play a crucial role in movements building towards liberation. Learn more at https://www.donkeysaddle.org/

Their mission of supporting the society by being collective and building sustainable solutions for themselves and sharing it with the community! In the wake of the horrible explosion in Beirut on August 4, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, New York Theatre Salon, and the team members behind Global Forms Theater Festival are coming together to host a one-day-only benefit. We hope to both celebrate Lebanese culture, and raise money to support the people affected throughout Lebanon. fajjr+ali will be presenting their video Got to Be as part of the virtual fundraiser. More info on the event, performers, and ways you can donate can be found here: https://www.rattlestick.org/20192020-season/2020/8/15/a-love-letter-to-lebanon-1 I'm honored to be taking part in a collaboration between Palestinian and Native American artists. The collaboration will be a four day workshop where we explore the similar histories each community shares and will culminate in an evening of play readings written by or dealing with Palestinian and Native Americans. The project is produced by Donkeysaddle Projects and the Eagle Project and will take place at the American Indian Community House on Sunday October 21st at 7pm.
On Saturday, March 24th, I will be running in the Gaza 5K at Prospect Park. The run/walk is sponsored by UNRWA USA which supports the work of UNRWA, the UN organization in charge of aiding Palestinian refugees. Proceeds from the race will go towards UNRWA's Community Mental Health Programme (CMHP) to help empower vulnerable refugees in Gaza, especially children, to better cope with the extreme challenges they face on a daily basis. I'm excited to be running my first 5K in 10 years for such an amazing cause. After performing in upstate New York, the Solutions Grassroots Tour performed in Brooklyn at the Irondale Center! We had some great guest speakers including Mark Ruffalo, Phylicia Rashad, Debra Winger and Zephyr Teachout! It was an amazing experience that helped to bring enewable energy accessiblity to New Yorkers. I just got cast in a new play being created by International WOW Company, which will perform in upstate New York this summer and in New York City this fall! The show is directed by Josh Fox, the creator of the Academy Award nominated documentary Gasland, and will deal with global climate change and the use of renewable energy. More information on the show can be found at www.solutionsgrassroots.com.
