I was recently cast in a workshop of a new play for The Flea's new series, Cereals. The show will be presented in serial format to young audience alongside 4 other culturally specific pieces. Participating in the workshop allowed me to join The Flea's resident acting company The Bats!

I will be playing Fareed in a reading of a new play, Haram Iran, which tells dives into the true story of two young boys sentenced to death in Iran. Get tickets here! Thrilled to return to the Lark for a workshop and reading of Mona Mansour's new play We Swim, We Talk, We Go to War on September 19th & 20th. Check out more about the production here! Performing in Monica Bauer's No Irish Need Apply at The Lady Liberty Theater Festival alongside two other plays that give voice to Muslim and immigrants in this country. We perform Wednesday–Sunday from September 7th through the 25th. New York Theatre Guide said, "Ali is powerful as the defensive and stoic academic. He has a wonderful command and ease on stage, which makes him extremely watchable." The Refuge Project which was devised in April of this year will be presented as a part of Bedlam's MadLab Series at Access Theater on August 29th. This iteration takes previous writing and adds new elements to this work in progress show. More info on Bedlam's MadLab Series can be found here. I will be performing in Artillier's Play in a Day Festival. Groups of writers, directors and actors will have 24 hour to write, rehearse and perform new plays within the theme of A Streetcar Named Desire. Check out more of there work here! The Lark in partnership with their Middle East America partners, Golden Thread Productions and Silk Road Rising, will be hosting a two day convention to celebrate the strides of the Middle Eastern American theatre community and their ongoing goals. The convening will include readings of new work including a new play by Mona Mansour. I will be performing in the reading on May 19th. More info can be found here! I will be performing in Poetic Theater Production's The Refuge Project at the Wild Project. The show was developed by the cast and explores the need for refuge within a global and personal context through movement, voice and text. Tickets can be found here! |
